Bears 53 Man Roster Update

I'm late, I know. I am so sorry to the tens of viewers on this page. I was out sick. I'm back (Unlike Kyler Gordon). Here are the top 5 stories from the 53-man roster decisions (I love the top 5 format so I may always use it, I don't know, I'm still working on it).

THE SEXY DEXY TRADE

I wrote about it last week and now, after tons of speculation, it happened. The Bears Sexy Dexy is on the move. Now there is a couple things about this story so let's break it down. Gervon Dexter gets traded to the Atlanta Falcons (I'm sorry Sexy Dexy) for CB Clark Phillips III and a 5th round pick.

First thing, who made this trade happen. Obviously, it was Ryan Poles on the Bears side, but who did the trade on the Falcons side. Matty Ice Ryan, right? Hell no. It was the real GM and the only GM Bears best friend Ian Cunningham! That's right Goodell, WHERE THE FUCK ARE OUR COMPENSATORY PICKS HOE!!!!!

Second, the package. CB Clark Phillips and a 5th round pick. This is way more than what I thought we would get for Gervon straight up. I thought it would be AT BEST a 3rd round only. We get a player and serious potential contributor to this defense and a 5th round pick. Now, a lot of people are thinking "so what? We got worst on the D-Line". That's just not true. We have a lot more question marks on the D-Line, but I don't believe it is worst. What also helps is Clark Phillips. This man is huge for this defense. Sure, he does not have the stats to back up my claim but take a walk with me. Coming out of college Phillips was undersized and looked to be more of a nickel back rather than an outside cornerback. Naturally, the Falcons put him at outside corner because that is what dog shit organizations do. People are measuring a fish on his ability to climb. Now we get the chance to slide him to the inside to cover up for Fashion Gordon (New nickname until he can be healthy for once). You know what this means? Malik Muhammad can go back to playing his best position on the outside. Now we have a decent nickel and some good outside corners. This defense is starting to look a little better.

Lastly, this means Poles and DA are sold on some of our young studs and fresh talent on the DL. Why else would we trade Dexy? We have to trust in DA. I think he believes with the good corners and safeties that we can force coverage sacks and maybe with Polar Bear Berg (or Ice Berg, read the last part of this post) we can get to the QB quicker.

All I have to say is, let Chef Poles cook man. Stop hating on the dude. He got us this team lets ride with him until we absolutely can't.

SAND MAN BABY

That's right baby. Sand Man is back. Some of us Jack Sanborn truthers saw him get released and got nervous but Poles did some finagling, put some peeps on IR and got our dude back on the squad. He can be a freak with a nose for the ball. Now does this deserve to be a headline? Probably not but I love Sand Man and I'm glad he's back. With this defense getting a lot of online hate it's good to get the fans rallied together with stuff like this. He is a fan favorite. Having him back is huge for morale of the fan base. This fan base is so divided and toxic sometimes and I love it all because it just shows the passion but having something that can bring almost everyone together deserves to be a headline. So, yeah, the Sand Man is back baby and he's going to help lead this defense to greatness.

Davenport, Iowa? Nah, Davenport Practice Squad

I don't know about you but this story was weird and wild. First of all, we sign vet Marcus Davenport to help this defensive line. This was supposed to be a decent addition with his connection with DA and with his pass rush experience. This was our hidden ace up our sleeves. Get this man back into prime shape and let him wreak havoc. Then, he doesn't step foot on the practice field. Like, okay, save him for the regular season, let him get back into shape. Then, POOF, he's waived from the team? After everyone was thinking he was our secret weapon and now, he's back on the practice squad? What the hell is that journey? I am still hopeful but have a lot more doubts now because I do not know what is going on with this man. Hopefully he can be a key piece later on but with this journey I doubt it. Again, a common theme in this blog, I trust in DA and Chef Poles, but this one seems fishy and weird to me.

No Longer Spiderman, He Is Fashion Man!

This has got to be one of the stories of the week. Like always, it revolved around Kyler Gordon. Why can this man just be in the headlines for being a DAWG. Now let me preface this with Kyler Gordon, when on the field, Is an absolute force man. He's a stud and the best Nickel in the league. He cannot be stopped or contained. Every WR and QB dreads seeing 6 out there. Problem is he is never out there, and it seems like now fans have had enough. I love him but being injured or whatever this new thing is, is frustrating. Now we have Ryan Poles saying we don't even know if he will play another game in a Bears uniform? I think we can all say we want to see him back and healthy, but this is getting depressing. The other problem is he seems like he likes fashion more than football. Recent memes and posts have shown him getting dolled up for fashion weeks and such when his mind needs to be on the game. Until further notice he is Fashion Gordon (Play on the superhero Flash Gordon for the not as old folks reading this). He will be back to Spiderman when he gets on the field and wows us consistently again. For right now Fashion Gordon is on the PUP list and is out for a minimum of 4 weeks. Only the lord knows what's going to happen with him now because Poles and Johnson sure don't.

Jordan "Polar Bear" Berg or Ice Berg

I finally have some nicknames that fit this athletic demon. Polar Bear Berg or Ice Berg. I thought Ice Berg would be good but Caleb already has the Ice nickname. Polar Bear fits his play style more, but it doesn't match as well. Let me know what you think! Anyways, this was just the header this topic is about the DL as a whole. This whole blog is about defense because the offense is like Allstate, It's in good hands. The defense is in good hands as well it's just the side of the ball with more questions than answers. DA is a mastermind but hes got a method to his madness that people don't know. This defense is starting to mold to his scheme. Eberf-lose was addicted to getting big lanky guys who could just be big. Dennis Allen wants smaller more athletic guys. You can see that in this line. Now this line is definitely the defensive line of misfit toys as in you have no big names just some hungry and young DAWGS. All I can say is trust DA and his vision. These young guys have proven themselves in preseason and deserve some time and DA showed us nothing to doubt the man last year. Just trust. Also, get used to bend don't break and a lot of FGs this year. Just saying.
