During training camp emotions run hot, tensions are high and every snap counts. This causes a lot of infamous battles. This blog breaks down some of the biggest battles currently going on in training camps across the league.
Ceedee Lamb vs Caleb Downs
This is the battle that cowboy fans have to think is an example of "Iron sharpens iron". Caleb Downs looks to be a star in the making if training camp footage can be trusted. He has been locking down one of the league's best receivers in Ceedee Lamb and Ceedee has been trying to give it back to him. If training camp clips mean anything Caleb Downs looks to be a monster in the making.
Max Crosby vs Kirk Cousins
We all know Max is an absolute unit. This man doesn't take plays off, never rests when injured and definitely doesn't take it easy during training camp. This man does everything with the highest intensity and gives everything his 110% effort. That being said it seems clear that maybe the QBs on the other side of him might not appreciate that including his own QBs. It seems like old ass Kirk has been getting a bit roughed up and has not enjoyed this much. Health is important in his old age so maybe Max can take it down a bit. We all love Kirk, but it is hard to be mad at that absolute beast #98.
New York Giants Offense vs Matt Nagy
One of the worst offensive minds that has cursed the league for years, is now responsible for a young and raw offense for the New York Giants. Matt Nagy was originally hyped up by the offense that Andy Reid created and now has somehow been given another chance to destroy yet another team. After Matt Nagy took over the Bears as head coach, their offense began to dramatically decline. Now you might think that happening once might be a fluke right? Well it happened again. When Nagy took over play calling for the Chiefs the offense that is led by Patrick Mahomes, also started to wither and die. Now that the Chiefs finally rid themselves of that tumor the league calls an offensive coordinator, he has latched onto another victim. All I can say is good fucking luck Giants.
49ers vs The Substation
We all saw the news last year that this substation located near the 49ers practice field was taking out the players like it was paid to do so. Well, it seems like this is still the case. With numerous players still injured and other players facing new injuries as well as muscle tightness maybe there is something behind this pseudoscience story. I don't know what might be causing this, but it can't just be a coincidence right? I guess time will tell.
Watson vs Sanders
Arguably the worst training camp QB battle is taking place in Cleveland, Ohio where Shedussy and "Don't touch me" Deshawn are going toe to toe to get that starting QB spot. This is a lose lose situation in which the biggest loser is somehow neither one of those players but every fan that has to watch them play. We will get the chance to see both of them play vs the Bears in their first preseason game Saturday. I am sorry but haven't the Browns fans suffered enough? I am so sorry guys!
Mahomes vs The Center
I know this was a one clip thing but it was too funny not to write about. In a viral clip Mahomes dropped back to pass and threw an absolute piss missile straight into the back of the Centers head. What makes this so funny is that we all know Mahomes is top 3 in the NFL despite having a season from hell last year. It is not often we get to see this caliber player make this hilarious of a mistake. Everyone soak it in because he will be back to fake running out of bound and crying to the refs in no time.
LA Chargers vs Love
Get a room Justin Herbert. Justin Herbert has been seen before, during and after practice with his fiancé Madison Beer. Most Chargers fans wish they hadn't. In these clips that have gone viral Madison and Justin can be seen holding hands (Awe so sweet), playing with their hair (Ok, not bad), Kissing (Why?) and full-on cuddling on the football field (Ok that's too much). Being in love is cool and all but there is a time and place. Harbaugh has got to be thrilled about this.
Patriots vs The Media
Patriots have had an extremely busy offseason. From their star WR beating his chef for not cutting the crust off his sandwich (allegedly), to the love affair of a reporter with their head coach, to the ass whooping of a lifetime in the Superbowl, to the easiest schedule in history allegations, to the previously mentioned star WR love affair with three boat hoes that separated his celebrity relationship, to the hall of fame snub of their ex head coach and more. The off season has just been a constant battle of news stories for the Patriots and now that they are all back in a room together with the media the battle has begun to get hot again. All they need is just another team to do something absolutely bat shit insane, so the media jumps off their back. I'm sure that the Jets or Browns won't mind helping them out in that regard.
